Retreat

Dear Colleagues in Ministry,

The 2025 Southern California Conference “One Table: Pastor’s Spiritual Retreat” will take place Sunday – Tuesday, March 2–4, 2025. The SCC Ministerial Office and the Prayer, Spirituality, and Renewal team have been prayerfully designing a retreat experience specifically designed to bring rest, renewal, and ministry support to each of our pastors.

This Retreat is required for all pastors, and we believe it will benefit you and your ministry. Please plan on being there. 

Our Speaker

Pastor Randy Robert was born in South America to missionary parents and spent most of his life in Latin American countries before college. Randy received his undergraduate degree from Southwestern Adventist University and his MDiv from the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University. He also has an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from the US International University in San Diego, California (and is a licensed marriage and family therapist) and a DMin from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Randy has spoken to various audiences nationally and internationally, written articles for various publications, and authored one Pacific Press book, The End is Near (Again).

Location

We are happy to inform you that this year’s Retreat will be at Pine Springs Ranch. They went through this massive renovation, and all the rooms are brand-new. There is still some work left, but the area we need is completed, and we will be able to accommodate everyone very comfortably. CLICK HERE for directions.

Registration

CLICK HERE to register and include the names of two of those you would like to share a room with. Accommodations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Audrey Zorek at azorek@sccsda.org. Registration will close on Monday, February 17, 2024. As you know, this is a required meeting.

Excuse for Absence

This is a required event, so please plan accordingly. The SCC President, Elder John Cress, is the only one who can excuse an absence in an emergency. Please reach out to him directly at jcress@sccsda.org.

Check-In

Sunday, March 2, 2025, will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Pine Springs Ranch’s lobby, followed by lunch at noon. You will receive your room key and some materials for the Retreat at check-in.

Pastors/APCs

In addition to all our pastors, we welcome the APCs to attend with us, but they must register, too. Please make sure you reach out to your APC with the registration information. We will place pastors and APCs on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Check-out

Be sure to check out of your room by taking all your belongings and returning your room key to complete your check-out process. You will be charged $20 if you do not return your key upon check-out.

Weather

Pine Springs Ranch is usually cooler than the city. We recommend you check the forecast beforehand to plan for it. CLICK HERE to check the weather.

Final Note

Please plan to stay the entire Retreat. However, if you must leave early, please inform Elder Chan or Elder Cress beforehand and return your room key to them.

Please pray that God’s Spirit will touch our hearts as we learn about True North.
