Adventist World Aviation and the Alaska Conference are urgently in need of a pastor/pilot, with a unique combination of talents
to serve the Bristol Bay Region of Alaska.

Job Description:
Applicant must provide pastoral leadership for the leading church and school in Dillingham and continue supporting a number of village mission outposts, including Togiak, Aleknagik, and Manakotak, as well as make periodic visits to Bethel.
Applicant must be a USA certified pilot with commercial and instrument ratings and a current second class medical certificate. In addition, they must have a minimum of 500 total flight hours. An Airframe and Powerplant mechanic rating is not required, but would be a plus. Applicant would be the lead pilot among several volunteer pilots in the local church.
The mission aircraft is provided by Adventist World Aviation, as well as the hanger to keep it in.
Demographics and Religious Climate:
The population is composed of Alaska Native people--mostly the Yupik race and a large non-native minority. The majority religions are either Russian Orthodox or Moravian, with small congregations representing many protestant and other faiths.
The Seventh-day Adventist church has more than a 75 year history in this area and has the potential of being a major faith factor in the community. The church sponsors 3ABN radio and TV stations, and is very well known. The church school has a good reputation and the attendees are children of both members and from the community.
For further information and to apply, please contact either Adventist World Aviation at (414) 226-5195 (Ric Swaningson) or the Alaska Conference at (907) 346-1004 (Ken Crawford).
